First Week

Well it has been over a week now on the road with Brock and Carli.  The trip down here took about 6 and a half hours between the detour for the semi-trailer fire on I-25 and potty breaks for Miss Carli.

The campground (Cottonwood RV Park) we are staying at is on the edge of town, which is nice because it puts us just far enough away from all the noise of the town. The weather has been beautiful almost everyday I have been here. We have a beautiful view of the mountain from here as well.

I am getting used to not working and getting to sleep in as long as I want and do whatever I want.  Carli is adjusting well, I think she is still a little confused by all the changes, but I think she likes to have people around more during the day, although she sleeps most it anyway.  She also gets a lot more walks and gets to go run errands with me alot more than she did before.  Ever since she has lived with me, I have let her sleep on the bed with me, which is now a habit we are trying to break because two adults and a large dog don't fit well together on a queen bed.

Brock kept me busy the first few days I was here between brake issues on his truck and doing laundry for the guys he works with. Because of the brakes problems with his truck, I was taking him to and from work and taking his truck in for service on two different days.  He mentioned that the brakes didn't feel right when he tried to stop and I didn't think much of it until I drove it and then I wanted to turn around, very scary feeling when you don't have brakes at all! It ending up only being the Master Cylinder, which to some might seem like a big thing, but the other part they thought it might be would have been twice the amount to fix and they would have had to change out the Master Cylinder first anyway. Laundry mats are now one of my best friends when doing six loads of laundry, so much faster than doing one load at a time.  I also learned that you do not need to wear a sweatshirt to the laundry mat no matter how cold it is outside, it gets very toasty in there with all the dryers running and folding warm clothes.

Brock ending up having a long weekend my first weekend here, which was nice.  He showed me some things on the 5th wheel that I know will come in handy.  We also washed the 5th wheel and my car.  I wasn't looking forward to washing the 5th wheel, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  We joined a tiny gym, the only one in town, so we can get all fit for our trip to Florida in May.

I will post some pictures soon.
